No data loss, though I did lose the cap right away so travel with the usb open. Get fast, free shipping with Amazon Prime. I use it mostly to download large files where bandwidth is available, then install them on other machines where only dial-up is available. Great for a couple mp3's, a few pictures and your passwords etc.

This became apparent recently when I forgot to take it out of my jeans and it 512,b thrown in the washing machine. The internals may be the same but the brand name printed on the drive is a different style also.

Sandisk Drives also come with encryption software to keep your stuff safe. It was a great buy! It more than paid for itself, and was the best purchase I ever made on Amazon. If you are looking for a flash drive, I really have to recommend these. I have an older computer, so it doesn't have as much storage to hold my videos, so these give me a place to send them off to after I'm finished making them.
